Abscess
An abscess is a localised inflamed swelling, containing pus. Abscesses can develop externally on the skin, but also internally in the mouth or on other mucous membranes- these should be reffered for a qualified medical treatment. treatments locally on the skin will generally involve hot compresses or poultices to draw out the toxic waste matter; recurrent abscesses often indicate a weakened immune system. Anal Abscess
Probable cause: Anger in relation to what you do not want to release.
New thought pattern: It is safe to let go. Only that which I no longer need leaves my body.

Bach Flower Remedies:
Honeysuckle - For when the mind is in the past rather than the present.
Holly - For when feeling wounded, jealous, spiteful or wanting revenge.
White Chestnut - For when the mind is running over the same thing.
Essential Oils:
Bergamot, Clary Sage, Frankincense, Lavender, Patchouli, Rose, Rosemary, Sandalwood.
Apply a compress of the following oils twice a day: Lavender (2 drops), Tea Tree (2 drops), Chamomile (2 drops).
Dental Abscess: Put 1 drop of Chamomile on a cotton bud and apply directly to the abscess and massage over the jaw and cheek area with the following oil: Lavender (3 drops) and Tea Tree (2 drops) diluted in 5ml vegetable oil.
Breast Abscess: Make up the following concentrate: German Chamomile (15 drops), Lavender (10 drops) and Eucalyptus (5 drops). Soak a piece of muslin in a saucer of walm chamomile tea containing 10 drops of concentrate and use as a compress.
Helpful Herbs:
Treat the areat externally with a hot poltice of Marshmallow or the powdered inner bark of Slippery Elm to draw out pus. For mouth ulcers use a hot compress made with an infusion of chamomile on the cheek over the area.
Echinacea or garlic capsules or a goldenseal infusion may help to boost the immune system (avoid goldenseal if pregnant or suffer from hypertension). Nettle and thyme infusions cleanse the body and a honeysuckleand thyme infucsion may fight the infection (avoid thyme in pregnancy)
Use internal treatment as outlined in Boils to clense the system and boost immunity.
Homeopathy:
Hepar sulpuris - for an abscess that is swollen and painful to the touch, before it has discharged.
Mercurius solubilis and Silica - for gum abcesses (prior to treatment by a dentist).
Calcarea carbonica - For encouraging an abscess to discharge.
